Later on in 1936, the engineers from Western Electric got out to start their own company, the "All Technical Products Company" - a year later this name was changed to Altec Services Corporation. The "talkie," or sound film, was made by engineers from Western Electric. The Altec Lansing Corporation began in 1927 when the concept of motion picture sound was introduced with the release of the first "talkie," titled The Jazz Singer. Their target market for their audio products are towards consumers and professionals for home, automotives, and multimedia. It is currently owned by the Infinity Group.
